  • Mary Lydia Ryan ~ Creativity Mentor

Do you imagine greater ease in living as an artist, a creative soul, a dreamer, an entrepreneur, or even simply existing day to day? Mary wants to be your mentor, validation, cheerleader, voice of encouragement, while redirecting you back to YOU to draw forth the answers and information contained right within yourself.

Mary has had the beautiful opportunity to mentor individuals in returning to their own unique wisdom, remembering who they are from soul and core level, and desires to broaden her scope of individuals she reaches.

Using a metaphysical, spiritually based approach, Mary guides, redirects, assists in moving blockages, sharing nuggets of information that she personally has found over the course of the past ten years in her own remembering and uncovering, rediscovering her individual wisdom and strength, and blossoming from here.

Beginning Sunday, December 4th, 2016 from 1:30pm-3:30pm, Mary is offering a once a month free and delightful mentorship sampler experience that will be available for anyone interested to participate in. This is a first come, first served event and reservations are requested so Mary can plan for refreshments and various supplies.

While Mary is actively registering individual AND group mentorships currently, she is aware that in this arena of creative folks funds are often thin. Mary feels that offering a monthly mentoring experience and ability for everyone interested to participate will enhance individual’s lives and build an even greater community that we reside in.

Are you curious? Sign up for December’s “Mentorship Experience.” It will be just that - an experience that is fun and enlightening.

    Sunday, Dec. 4th, 2016

1:30pm-3:30pm, Free of charge with RSVP.

Seattle Public Library, Capitol Hill Branch meeting room on the 2nd floor.

    Refreshments will be provided.

(The location of these events WILL change monthly to enable varying experiences and opportunities.)

Midsummer turns out to be Seattle's celebratory season to send Willow & the Embers off to further adventures as they move on to Nashville as Willow and one Ember. Fortunately we get to hold the other Ember here for safe keeping until the rest of them find their way back to us.

My [this is Mary Lydia speaking,] history with Willow began in 1996 at Joe Bar Cafe where we met in person for the first time as I accepted her invitation to become one of the handful of women of Persephone's Circle, a performance group Willow dreamed up comprised of local female singer-songwriters. The women of Persephone's Circle supported and joined efforts of one another on and off stage as we grew in our music careers and personal lives.

Persephone’s Circle was active for close to one decade featured at Bumbershoot, Northwest Folk Life Festival, in live radio performances, mini tours, many clubs and coffee houses in Seattle and surrounding neighborhoods and cities. Beyond our musical ties and passion for creativity in many forms, friendships have grown deep.

This Midsummer Night’s Song has been richly infused with the lovely energies of these many years and stories interwoven between these women, their lives and music.

It is with honor and gratitude for Willow and her added Embers over the course of her musical journey in Seattle, that Tiger Zane and I help send them off with our deepest love and best wishes.

  • Newly recorded vocal EP, "Where Can I Leave My Heart," has been birthed from Mary's growing desire to see pure love and kindness governing our human family despite our differences and belief systems. Dearest to Mary's heart is mending relationships with our LGBTQ community and lifting and loving anyone that has lost family or loved ones or self esteem or has spent years broken or trodden down.

"I want to be a voice of love. I want to be anyone's adoptive mother, friend, sister that is in need. I'd take you all in if I realistically could... 'I'd buy a big house where we all could live.' What I can do is sing to you, to share my heart and my soul with you and perhaps soothe you with a bedtime song.”

In collaboration with a Seattle based effort calling themselves, "Tsunami of Love," Mary's desire is to celebrate life together, to unify and to extend love and compassion where it is greatly needed; bringing community together through music, specifically the LDS LGBTQ community and extending to all reaches of our LGBTQ family.

The gorgeous studio of Seattle Sculptural Artist, Steve Jensen, known for his totems and boats is the perfect gathering place for this affair.

"It's an honor and delight for me to be able to perform in Steve's space and on his personal hand-carved baby grand. I look forward to our evening together."

    ~ Mary Lydia
